She goes from knowing nothing about car/no interest in cars to casually admiring a BMW 2002 before I do. I guess I did something right.

That’s great, e nthusiasm is contagious! Learn anything cool from her lately? My wife has been showing me the basics of playing mountain dulcimer.

My 15 year old is not really into the idea of driving but digs my neighbor’s corvairs, that falcon I posted, VW beetles and buses, old cabover vans and 50s American stuff (there was a purple 1950ish Chevy she pointed out to me the other day). Weird like dad although I’m an Italian oddball car guy overall. Glad you have a cool kiddo too!

She’s been teaching me a lot about her drawing/creativity. She is in business sector but has a big drawing/creative side that I didn’t see until within the last 3 months as she got laid off in November, extended until March 31 (how bout that for timing?) and had a lot of free time to get back in touch with her creative side.

Ooof, well that’s a silver lining at least for the art side of things . Here’s hoping for a good job for her soon.

To be fair, she is 5’1” and will probably look young for much longer so I don’t blame your assumption!

Fortunately she had some contacts in her industry and starts a job June 15th. Between that and her severance from being laid off, our lives haven’t been affected much from everything involving covid . As an end of gen millennial (born ‘93) this is the first economic “crash” I’ve had to deal with on my own so I am counting my lucky stars these days.

I feel very blessed knowing what my parents went through during the last recession (I was still in grade school). I had to pay my own way through school but it has rewarded me with a good career so I’ve been counting my lucky stars. Thank you for the positivity! Hope that you have fared well too.

I know everything around covid has been very politicized but as an engineer by trade/education and leftist leaning my personality reasoning has always been based around science and doing what’s right for the good of the populous. Her and I both are on the same wavelength when it comes to that. Whether or not masks are truly effective, why not do it just in case? If anything, from what I’ve learned, factors of safety and overprotection is always for the best.

It's about protecting other people. Even a small reduction in the risk factor is worth it if all you have to do is wear some cloth over your mouth.
